5-Star Award for Addingham Business

Addingham catering company GFS Catering is pleased to announce that its sister company The Good Food Shop Ltd has once again been awarded the maximum 5 stars for Health & Hygiene by Bradford Council for its Delicatessen and Sandwich Shop located on Main Street in Addingham. Good Food Shop Director, Sarah Mayo said ‘We are very pleased that we have maintained our 5-star status, it shows our ethos of continual improvement and staff training have paid off. The staff have all worked incredibly hard to achieve this, a big thanks to Ann, Carol, Rachael, Eleanor and Harriot.'

The Good Food Shop Delicatessen and Sandwich Shop opened in early 2007 and has become a key part of village life providing freshly baked breads, local milk, fruit & veg along with a wide range of local produce and luxury deli products. Hot and Cold, made to order, takeaway sandwiches and snacks are also available all day.

Good Food Shop Director Sarah Kent says 'This award is important to us as it recognises the high standards that we strive for. Most importantly it gives our customers confidence in us, and shows that their trust in us is well placed.'

The Scheme

Bradford Council, in conjunction with other Yorkshire local authorities have adopted a 5-star rating scheme that provides user-friendly information about the standards of hygiene and compliance with the law in food premises in the region.

How does the scheme work?

Following an inspection, an officer will rate the business for food safety standards. The star rating is based on the scores for hygiene, structure and confidence in management. The better the standards of food safety the higher the number of stars given. This will range from 5 stars (excellent) to no stars (very poor).
